Waal Trails are picturesque paths along narrow water channels (so-called "Waale") which were used in earlier times to irrigate agricultural fields. These walkways are usually very level, and crisscross the area of Meran/Merano, the Vinschgau/Val Venosta, and the Passeier/Passiria Valley. They also afford wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
