Responsible Tourism

There is an impressive drive up to the cloistered hamlet of Karthaus (1,323 m) in the Schnals valley, South Tyrol. Some 15 monks lived a strict cloister life here from 1326 to 1725. The Karthaus of today is a nature-lover’s paradise where old and new make harmonious scenery. The Goldene Rose hotel, rich in tradition, is managed with a philosophy ...

... that respects this and the environment. Wood-panelled “Stuben” and snug, charming bedrooms with wooden floors and a private flower and herb-garden make your stay here very enjoyable. In the health spa area – where you’ll also find our own line of cosmetics containing pure ingredients from the Schnals valley glacier – enjoyable, invigorating treatments await our guests.

The “Glacisse” line is our own palette of exclusive cosmetic products containing valuable substances from the Schnal/Senales Valley glacier which are guaranteed to enhance your well-being and help you relax. Tasting delectable wines in the former vaulted cellar used by the monks. Lunch tastes great at the hotel’s own mountain refuge restaurant on the glacier. Hence today you can still enjoy the most impressive mountain experience in the Schnals valley ‘in the name of the rose’.
